Most of the Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew. Chris Mostert, one of the authors of THE ORIGIN OF LIFE, shares a few thoughts from a different perspective to affirm how marvellously the Bible, as the Word of God, was knitted together. The first five books of the Old Testament are known as the Pentateuch. The Jews call it the Torah, when translated from Hebrew, The Law. When Israel departed from Egypt, the aforementioned was the Word of God they received in the Sinai desert. The total number of men (Israel) that left Egypt was 600,000. These men acted on the Word of God and moved out of Egypt. It is recorded in Exodus 12:37. If one adds up all the Hebrew letters from Genesis to Deuteronomy, you come to the same number 600,000! When one writes the words: “There are 600,000 letters in the Torah”, in Hebrew, it looks as follows: לתורה   אותיות   רברוא   ששים   יש < < < One read this in Hebrew from right to left. The first letter of every Hebrew word is printed bigger and underlined for this explanation only. Again, it is written from right to left. These letters now spell the word: ישראל (JISRAEL), translated as Israel, nation of God! To summarize, we can say that all those who acted on the Word (Torah) of God, was Israel, the nation of God! Is it not amazing? No man – not even Moses could have calculated this. God expressed His hidden blessing out of the Hebrew language over His people. To experience God’s blessings they had to conscientiously walk according to His Word. If one also reads the other important discoveries, teachings and explanations in THE ORIGIN OF LIFE, one comes to the conclusion that the Bible could not have been inspired by man alone!! BACKGROUND OF AUTHORS

Chris and Louise Mostert met each other as students at the University of Stellenbosch, R.S.A. They studied theology and natural science respectively. After completing their studies in 1974, they as pastoral couple started ministering in the Dutch Reformed Church in Cedarville and Sundra. From 1983, they were involved at the Apostolic Faith Mission in South Africa. They also developed ministries in Boksburg, Franschhoek, Rustenburg, and are currently busy in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town. Whilst developing churches, Louise completed her Bible School Training at Christian City, her Higher Diploma in Education, and her Honours Degree in Psychology at the University of South Africa. Because of their broad interdenominational background, they gained invaluable experience in Church Growth and Scripture based research. The Lord guided them to compile some of this information in a book THE ORIGIN OF LIFE. Their prayer is that this book would be a blessing to readers, and that the light of God’s Word will illuminate their paths.
